And the 261th-place winner is ...

The race results are in! I was finisher No. 261 in my age group, meaning I did better than 48 women in their 30s. Of course, 260 of them did better than me. Dammit! But I did improve on my overall time by a couple of minutes, despite the Crippling Cramp From Hell. My finish time was 2 hours, 35.23 minutes. (In October's half-marathon, I ran 2:38 flat, so I beat myself by around 2.37.)

P.S. The fastest woman in my age group finished nearly an hour before I did, 1:31.33. Holy crap.

CONGRATS! I realized that now you have, between the Rock N Roll and this race, RUN AN ENTIRE MARATHON! Probably 10 if you count training. So proud of Pamy!

Also, how exactly would you pronounce "261th"? When I say it out loud, it sounds like I have a lisp. Two Hundred Sixty Firth. Is that like Colin Firth?

OMG. How did I put something so dumb?! OK, wait. I think I can explain. I'm pretty sure this is because of my copy-editor head. Robyn, back me up. So you would never say first-place winner. That is obviously and painfully redundant. So I think that even though my place technically ENDS with a 1, my brain rebelled against the idea of putting a "-st" and instead went with the "-th," more commonly found with the runner-up numbers. So as you can see, it was a move of sheer brilliance.
